What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Coastal Service Experts is here with some of the most usual air conditioning problems in Savannah.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment running but there isn’t cool air being produced, you might need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Coastal Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it simply burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity could cause more condensation so an additional matter to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is obstructed. If you can verify these things, you may be able to pinpoint the issue; if not, give Coastal Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause significant cooling issues. Another thing that could cause your lack of cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Coastal Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be back in business. Note that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioner trouble you run into, Coastal Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
