What causes indoor air pollution?

Many common things may cause inferior indoor air quality in your Savannah home.

This includes:

  • Chemicals in [flooring, furniture and window treatments that let off fumes
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Paint
  • Personal care products
  • Air fresheners and candles

Though they are usually more efficient, modern homes don’t have fresh air the way older residences do. Snug weather stripping and storm doors keep interior air in and exterior air out. This provides higher energy savings, but the decreased exchange of outdoor and indoor air can cause particles increasing inside.

When this occurs, a whole-house ventilation system is advised. Ventilation systems swap out dirty indoor air for cleaner outside air without compromising energy savings.
